A spectacular vintage 1920’s doily decorated in the Theorem style of painting on velvet. The fabric of the doily is black velvet with a beautiful hand painted basket of flowers decorating the center of the oval cloth. It is amazing to examine the texture of the painting close up. It is the nap of the velvet fabric which gives a heightened depth to the painted rose flower and basket, almost a 3-D affect.
