The story of the tortoise and the hare is colorfully illustrated on this child spinning toy top from the 1940’s. A race to the finish…. a surprise by the rabbit to awaken from a nap to find the tortoise has won. A cute vintage childhood plaything.
Although I found no markings on the top, I believe it was made by the Ohio Art Company. It is signed, though, by the famous Fern Bisel Peat, the illustrator of this delightful graphic.
