A wonderful group of late antique Victorian quilt blocks. There are 56 blocks, in the lot, pieced and hand stitched. Fabrics of calico materials, stripes and checks are used, mainly, in warm brown tones, although a few in other assorted colors, such as double pinks, blue and red.
All the blocks have the same check fabric at the center. This piece is set on a diamond. The other pieced fabrics, in the block, are set in a triangle, around the diamond shape.
