Here is a cute primitive, made at home, cloth chicken pincushion. This antique sewing tool dates from the early part of the 1900’s, probably about 1920. Made of a small black check homespun fabric, in the shape of a setting hen, with embroidered stitches to accent.
The tail feathers are accented with various hatpins of shape, size and colors. A small black button for the eye and red, I believe, rick rack shapes the comb. Adorably sweet and charming.
