Antique Celluloid Pincushion Silk Floral Ribbon Edwardian 1910 Sewing

Here’s a little gem of a pincushion from the early part of the 1900’s, Edwardian era.  It is one of those sweet novelty items, women then created.  The little celluloid canoe was purchased, with the cushion, itself, made and stitched by hand.

A beautiful water silk ribbon, in a pretty floral pattern, was chosen to fill the bed of the canoe. Narrow pink silk ribbon tied with bows, on either end provided a method for hanging the pincushion if so desired.
