A 1890’s Victorian Gibson girl child’s dress. Made in a blue and white stripe plaid fabric with ruffle yoke, the dress has puffy sleeves ending in a deep cuff at the wrist. The sleeves are fully lined with the same plaid fabric, only to the cuff.
This extra thickness of the double fabric tends to give the sleeve more stiffening of the Gibson girl look. Button back to the waist with white china buttons and hand worked button holes. Full gathered skirt with an inside pocket on one side. A pretty blue and white novelty braid edges the round neck as well as embellishing the edge of the ruffle.
