Truly a lovely confectionery! This ivory plush velvet girl’s hat dates from the middle Edwardian era. The hat is of a velvet shaped and ruched in layers. Brim has two bands of stiffening (I don’t believe it is wire) to give more stability on the brim area.
Lined in the same fabric. Ivory feathers were added at the edge of the ruffle just under the first stiffening. Most of these feathers are gone except for a few traces that remain. The only other decorating to the hat are four velvet flowers added uniformly around the crown.
