Antique Knitted Burgundy Silk Miser Bag Coin Purse Silver Bead Fringe Early 1900

The miser bag ~ an interesting concept or style of a purse for carrying a few coins, perhaps with a paper dollar or two. Dating from the late Victorian or early part of the 1900’s, the small bag is in very nice condition with no missing beadwork.

This burgundy color creation is hand knitted in a silk thread.  The edge of each of the flaps and base of each purse is embellished with silver beaded fringe.  The strings of the bags are secured in the center with two metal rings.
