A 19th century coverlet blanket in an overshot weave. This wonderful antique example is so attractive in a block weave with the colors of brick red and dark blue on a ground of natural linen. The thread content is a linen and I believe wool.
It has a 3″ fringe around the three sides. Hand hemmed turned under at the top edge. It would be 74″ wide x 83″ long, not including the fringe. I state would be….this is a center seamed coverlet but for some reason the thread was removed from the center seam.
