Back in the day, sewing clothes, home decor, curtains, and other necessities of life was the way to go. There wasn’t enough money to run to the store like today. People were frugal, and in being so, many women were able to show off the creative side of their natures with beautifully handcrafted, hand sewn items.

2 Drapery Drapes Curtain Panels Linen Floral Vintage 1940s 1950s

Dating from the 1940’s to the mid 1950’s, two pinch pleated drapery panel in a linen fabric. The print of the fabric are garden flowers including, hydrangeas, peonies and other spring bloom.  Colors are vibrant, yet soft, in shades of pink, roses, purple blue and green on a tan background.  Flowers are on a larger scale.  Looks like barkcloth in design, but fabric is linen.  Gorgeous vintage patina plus how often do you find linen fabric?.    Both panels are fully lined.  Professionally made.

Victorian Blue White Eyelet Embroidery Fabric 1890s Yardage

A wonderful old piece of embroidered eyelet fabric yardage.  The 1890’s Victorian fabric is a blue (almost a slate) background with white embroidery.  Great for doll dressmaking or other costuming, sewing projects.

Vintage 1930s Depression 1950s Green Yellow Stripe Toweling Fabric

Nice old green and yellow stripe toweling fabric from the 1930’s Depression era to the 1950’s.  Two narrow yellow stripes on either side of a wider green make this a nice choice for a vintage kitchen.  (Stripes are on either side of the toweling edge)    The crash toweling fabric is in unused condition.

Vintage Fan Quilt Block Pieces 1920s Treadle Machine Sewn Multi Fabrics

A pretty assortment of fabric calicos, floral and solid colors make up this fan quilt block pieces.  Made about 1920s, the blocks are treadle machine sewn.  All in the varies stage of construction, some more completed than others.

Colors are mainly blue calicos, checks and stripes. Some brown, black white shirting fabrics and maroon.  Colors are all very pleasing.
