Here is a nice offering of a 19th Century Civil War era 1860’s day bonnet head dress. The foundation of the cap is black tulle net of two layers, each of different weave.
The bonnet is made on a circular single wire frame then adorned with ribbons and bows overlapping each other completely around the cap. Ribbons used are black velvet, black silk and a pretty woven silk ribbon in a tan color stripe.
