A handmade lacis, knotted, darn net table cloth with exquisite needlework. Dating from the 1920’s or 1930’s, the square cloth, or centerpiece doily, features a large Gothic shape at the center. This shape is 21″ x 21″. At each of the four corners, a urn with flowers. In between these areas, tightly, tightly knotted stitches in a completely woven pattern. The scallop border is 5″ wide and is accented with a flower head motif. Made of a very fine thread, in an white color. possible a pearl cotton as it does have a sheen or luster.
