Victorian Handkerchief Floral Print Pillow Cover Antique White Eyelet Ruffle

A sewing craft project of many years ago, this hankie pillow cover features bouquet of flowers in a pink print on white.  It is a typical flower pattern one does see made into pillow tops or covers.  A bit out of the ordinary, however, is the handkerchief of the back is a different print from the front.

Most of these are a home sewn project using a printed cotton handkerchief.  The hankie was cut in four sections, then restitched with lace insertion or whitework embroidery between each corner of the hankie, thus forming the pillow top.  The lace or eyelet, also, includes a row of beading lace, so ribbon can be threaded through.  Tying, here and there in bows, for further embellishment.
