A lovely pair of Madeira pillowcases in a cutwork embroidery flower basket design. Unused and stored in a cedar chest. The cases were a wedding gift to Clark and Arlene Boatright, who were married in September 1940.
In an overtone of blue thread, the cases are a stylized flower basket filled with a blooming flower, buds and leaves. The design encompass almost the full bottom edge of the front of each case. A scallop edging border appears on both the front and back of cases.
