Oh, so fashionable in its day, this lovely batiste night or dressing gown is from the Victorian or early Edwardian period. The bodice features rows of Valenciennes lace alternating with the soft batiste fabric, which creates an elegant dreamy air. The collar is also of lace with a ribbon drawstring.
This, too, provide another added detail to the gown. The full sleeves also features wide ruffle of lace to about elbow length. The remainder of the fabric flows to the floor. Deep gussets set in on either side of the side seams also gives volume to the skirt. Buttons down the front to just below the waist.
