Many Victorians fashioned round discs, called pin keeps, to store straight pins for handy use on a dresser or sewing basket. The Gatherings is offering a pin keep, dating from the late 19th Century (about 1880-1890), covered in black velvet fabric. Painting of flora is done by hand on the one side.
