This antique Victorian hairpin dates to circa 1890–1905 and showcases the refined metalwork typical of late 19th-century personal adornment. The design features a naturalistic floral bloom, its petals and leaves formed from delicately shaped wire filigree, creating an airy, lace-like appearance.
A particularly desirable detail is the spiral wire spring stem, a thoughtful Victorian construction element that allowed the ornament to flex gently with the wearer’s hair, adding comfort and durability while preventing breakage. This feature is most often seen in higher-quality hair ornaments from the period and is seldom encountered intact today.
