Description
Vintage 1950’s girl’s school dress in a white with raise double dotted Swiss fabric, slightly sheer. The child’s dress features a full dirndl skirt, 3 buttons fasten the back, fabric self sash tie, and short puff sleeves, trim in blue dot fabric. Embellishing the front of skirt , at the hem, are two insets of blue dot ruffled fabric shaped in a triangle. At the very top of the point a small fabric bow fastened. Hem is turned and stitched. My thoughts the dress is home sewn. As you note from the photos, the dress does have a few oxidation stains just as found. Dress has been worn so needs to be laundered to remove the stain. Also on the ruffled collar it is missing some the dots of the fabric. A very decent cute dress though.
Measurements: 31-1/2″ long from the neck to hem. 11″ across the shoulders. 29″ around the chest. 26″ around the waist with the sash untied. Measurement around the bottom of the hem is 80″ circumference. So it is quite full. Triangle inset on the skirt is 8″ tall, from the bottom of the hem to the point. Widest width across the triangle is 6-1/2″ wide.
A cute child’s school dress probably for about a 8 to 9 year old.
