Description
Here’s an old 1890’s farmhouse primitive bib apron so suitable to dress a doll or even a teddy bear. The bib could be team with a complimenting dress or skirt for a country charm look.
A doll feeding bib from the late Victorian or early 1900’s. The fabric of the bib (or apron type bib) is made of a white with black calico. It is trimmed in double pink calico at the neck front, back opening and hem. The trim is also used around the armhole openings. It is a simple bib which slipped over the arms with no fastenings in the back.
It measures 7″ across the shoulders from one side to the other. 9-3/4″ long from the shoulder to the hem.
The calico bias has been treadle machine sewn and in areas along the neck line and sleeve opening the thread has broken away. In other words, it should be restitched. Same is true in a couple of small areas along the hem and side opening. Nothing major but should be resewn. Of course, it would be fine to leave as it is, too. A small amount of oxidation is also present.
