Description
Dating from the early 1900’s or later Victorian era, a pretty Italian layover white linen sham. A single sham with embroidered and cutwork flowers with flowing tendrils tied in a bow. The embellishment appears on the lower decorative part of the sham. A border of drawn thread surrounds the motif. Each of the two lower corners, as well as the lower center, is filled with embroidered and cutwork floral. Hemstitching edges the hem.
The overall size of the sham is 38-1/2″ long x 29-1/2″ wide. The size of the center embroidered motif is 17″ long x 6-1/2″ wide. The corner motifs are 10″ long x 4-1/2″ wide.
Except for a tiny dot of bluing (see photo) the condition is very nice.
