Description
A simple but striking composition unifies this lovely 1900’s square centerpiece tablecloth doily.
Each corner of the doily is highlighted with padded embroidery stitches in a double leaf design. Gathered with a ribbon looped around the leaves, as if to tie together, it is stitchery in motion. To connect each of the corners, a line of hand drawnwork – pulled thread, completes the continuity. Each corner motif is 7″ high x 12″ long.
The lovely cloth is from the early part of the 1900’s in a white quality cotton or linen blend. Size is 29-1/2″ square. A perfect choice for a centerpiece doily. Either by itself or perhaps layered on a larger tablecloth.
Condition is very nice. It has at some point been laundered and pressed although not recently, however, certainly ready to use and enjoy.
