Description
A pair of hand embroidery turkey redwork lay over pillow shams or topper covers. Dating from the later Victorian era, the shams feature clusters of grapes and leaves in each corner of the sham. To further accent the shams, a machine knit trim in red and white is hand stitched to the edge.
Size of the shams: 30″ x 31″. Condition: One little mend near an edge on one of the shams. Not very visible. The shams have not been recently laundered, so you will find some oxidation at the fold lines etc. However, all is relatively minor. The red thread still has nice coloration.
A fabric backing could easily be added to the sham to make a pillow. Or your imagination is the limit.
